We’re proud to share that Tony Tyre, founder of Tyre Law Group, PC, was recently featured by VoyageLA. In the interview, Tony reflects on his journey building the firm, the challenges and lessons that came with growing a law practice, and his commitment to providing sophisticated estate planning and probate guidance while maintaining a personal connection with clients and the communities Tyre Law Group, PC serves.
VoyageLA: “Hi Tony, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?”
Tony: “I founded Tyre Law Group, PC with a focus on estate planning, trusts, and probate. What began as a small practice has grown into a firm serving individuals and families throughout Southern California, with offices in West Hollywood, Covina, Temple City, in addition to other satellite offices. Along the way, I became a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California, which was an important professional milestone for me.
As the firm has grown, I’ve tried to stay focused on what mattered to me when I started: providing sophisticated legal advice while still being approachable and accessible. Estate planning can feel intimidating or overly technical, and I’ve always believed that clients should understand their options and feel comfortable asking questions. We’ve worked hard to build a firm where clients feel like they know their attorneys and where relationships extend beyond a single transaction.
Opening our West Hollywood office was particularly meaningful to me. I’ve called West Hollywood home for more than 20 years, so expanding the firm into my own community felt like a natural next chapter. As a husband and father of two young children, I also understand estate planning from a very personal perspective. The conversations I have with clients about protecting their families and planning for the future are the same kinds of conversations that matter in my own family.
Today, I’m proud of how Tyre Law Group, PC has grown, but I’m even more proud that we’ve been able to grow without losing the personal approach that got us here. My goal has never simply been to build a bigger law firm. It’s been to build a practice with a strong reputation, deep roots in the communities we serve, and a team that people trust with some of the most important decisions they’ll ever make.”
VoyageLA: “I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?”
Tony: “Like most businesses, the road definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth. Building a law firm means learning how to be both an attorney and a business owner, and those are two very different skill sets.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to grow without sacrificing the quality of our work or the personal experience we provide to clients. As the firm expanded, I had to learn how to delegate, build the right team, create systems, and trust other people with responsibilities that I had once handled myself. That transition can be difficult for any entrepreneur, particularly when your name is on the door.
There have also been plenty of moments where things didn’t work as planned. We’ve tried marketing strategies that didn’t produce results, made hiring decisions that weren’t the right fit, and had to continually adapt to changes in the legal profession and the way clients find and choose attorneys. Each of those experiences taught me something and ultimately helped shape the firm we have today.”
VoyageLA: “Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?”
Tony: “Tyre Law Group, PC is an estate planning, trust, and probate law firm serving individuals and families throughout Southern California. We help clients with everything from creating an estate plan to navigating the administration of a trust or probate after the loss of a loved one. We also handle more complex planning and contested trust and estate matters.
Estate planning is really about people, not documents. Our clients are trusting us with their families, their businesses, their homes, and often everything they have spent a lifetime building. We take that responsibility seriously, but we also try to make the process comfortable and approachable. The law can be complicated, but the client experience shouldn’t be.
One thing that sets us apart is the combination of technical expertise and personal service. I’m a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California, a designation held by a relatively small percentage of attorneys practicing in this area. At the same time, we’ve built the firm around accessibility and relationships. We want clients to feel comfortable calling us, asking questions, and knowing there is a team that genuinely knows them and their family.
We also recognize that modern families don’t all look the same. We work with traditional families, blended families, unmarried couples, LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, business owners, and clients with significant or complex estates. Good estate planning isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we believe a plan should reflect the people and priorities behind it.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. Much of our growth has come from referrals, relationships within the community, and clients who send their friends and family to us. To me, there is no better endorsement than someone trusting us enough to recommend us to someone they care about.
Ultimately, I want people to know that sophisticated estate planning doesn’t have to feel intimidating or impersonal. We’ve worked hard to build a firm that combines a high level of legal expertise with warmth, accessibility, and genuine connection. That’s what I want the Tyre Law Group, PC name to represent.”
Voyage LA: “Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?”
Tony: “My biggest advice when it comes to networking is to focus on building genuine relationships rather than approaching every interaction as a business opportunity. Some of the most valuable professional relationships I’ve developed started simply by getting to know someone, staying in touch, and looking for ways we could support one another. Further, networking is more about quality verses quantity.
When it comes to mentorship, I don’t think you necessarily need to find one person who has all the answers. I’ve learned different things from different people throughout my career. Some have helped me become a better attorney, while others have taught me about leadership, marketing, managing a team, or simply thinking bigger about what a law firm could become.”
