Each year, over six million animals enter shelters nationwide, leaving many of these shelters filled beyond their capacity. Last year, County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) centers alone took in approximately 27,000 animals, more than half of which were successfully adopted out. DACC centers share a common mission of “Socially Conscious Animal Sheltering,” which strives to both maximize live outcomes for animals and balance animal comfort with public safety. As part of their commitment to Socially Conscious Animal Sheltering, Baldwin Park Animal Care Center will never turn away an animal in need.
